Hear more from Pastor O’Brien about the OPC missions work we are members of (Well tEcHnIcAlLy we are members of Emmanuel OPC until our missions work particularizes, but we digress). Please continue to pray for our church plant. We are cherishing the final months we have of being able to by physically involved in this missions work. We are so thankful to the Lord for what he is doing in our congregation and the blessing Christ Church Downingtown has been to our family. -The Emmetts
“Christ Church Downingtown continues to see great progress towards particularization and is experiencing the many blessings of a growing church. Pastor Greg O’Brien writes, “Officer training has been a major focus of our church over the past year and a half. In God’s mercy, four men were recently certified by the session and presented to the congregation. During a time of Q&A prior to the vote, congregants expressed deep gratitude for the men and a faith-filled understanding of the importance of elders in the life of our congregation. All four men were unanimously elected. While we are not yet ready to particularize, we are rejoicing as we see God’s provision of godly men to shepherd and lead the church. We also continue to welcome new visitors and see visitors return, some expressing a desire to join the church. Recently a young man who grew up in the PCUSA church down the street joined us. He’s been away from church for a while and did not understand the gospel. After sharing the gospel with him in a personal setting, he responded saying that he doesn’t want to make a decision lightly, but said, ‘I believe this [faith in Christ] is the direction I need to go and am heading in.’ Pray for the Spirit’s work in his heart. Please also pray for us to become self-sustaining financially.” -Pastor Greg O’Brien
