Dear Friends and Family,

We hope this letter finds you well! We just wanted to take a minute to thank you for coming alongside us! We are so grateful for your role in our lives and ministry!

Recent Changes and Travels

Many happenings have occurred as we have transitioned out of camping ministry and are preparing for international ministry. It has been a whirlwind! We have moved out of our house at camp, packed what belongings we need for Uganda, and stored the rest with family.

We went to our last Jackson and Emmett-side family vacations for the foreseeable future. We spent some time in Northern New York for Travis to work alongside his brother (an electrician) to gain some electrical experience. Most recently, we traveled to

Missions Training International in Colorado to do (you guessed it!) international mission’s training. It was a blessing to learn and grow with others who will be heading to various parts of the world to share the Gospel as well as be taught by many who were previously on the mission field. Classes focused on general language learning, phonetics, cross-cultural training, etc.

The Lord had other plans

We are looking forward to moving to and joining our team over in Uganda. Our plane tickets had been bought, and the plan was to land in Entebbe on November 1st, 2023. However, our plans have changed due to not receiving the medical clearances we needed in order to be approved for the field. We are saddened to have to delay our trip, but we are trusting in the Lord’s will and timing. Our current plan is to wait until after the arrival of our

fourth baby which will hopefully give us enough time to get the necessary medical clearances. Once cleared to be on the mission field, we will head to Uganda for the start of our 3-year term. We covet your prayers in this time of waiting.

What will life look like while we wait to go to the field?

Travis is working part-time for Camp Sankanac and, though we had to switch houses, we are still able to live on camp property (which is a huge blessing!). Travis is also hoping to use this time to get additional trades experience and as much experience as possible serving on our church’s session as an elder. We are also using this time to prepare to welcome our precious baby boy, get our family ready for the field, and cherish the extra time with our family, friends, and church.

In Christ,

The Emmett Family
